Egypt’s cigarette manufacturer Eastern Company (Eastern Tobacco) announced it is studying the establishment of a cigarette production and packaging plant in Malawi at a cost reaching $40 million.
According to the company, it will hold a 51% stake in the new facility.
The move comes as part of the company’s plans to jointly establish plants in several African markets.
